Dial-up Setup for Windows 95/98/ME
These
setup instructions assume that you are not using
the auto-install feature of the niinet.net installation
CD-ROM provided to you when you placed your
order for Internet dial-up service.
- You
must have Dial-Up Networking installed.
If you do not, you will need to have your
Windows 95/98/ME installation CD before
you begin. To determine if you have Dial-Up
Networking installed:
- Click
on the Start button in the lower
left-hand corner of the screen
- Choose
Settings
- Choose
Control Panel
- Double
click on Add/Remove Programs
- Click
the Windows Setup tab
- Highhlight
the Communications component and
click the Details button
- If
the box next to Dial-Up Networking is
not checked, check it
- Click
the OK button at the bottom of
the page
- Click
the OK button at the bottom of
the page
- This
is where you will need your Windows CD,
insert the CD when instructed and restart
your computer if instructed to do so.
- You
now have the Dial-Up Networking component
installed.
- Double-click
the My Computer icon on your desktop.
- Double-click
the Dial-Up Networking icon
- Follow
the on-screen instructions, using the information
above, and complete the Dial-Up Networking
wizard.
- You
can test your dial-up connection by double-clicking
the niinet.net icon in Dial-Up Networking
and opening a web browser.
