Internet Dialup Setup for Mac OS 9

• From the desktop, double-click on the Hard Drive icon.
• From the Hard Drive window, double-click on the Assistants icon to open this folder.
• In the Assistants window, double-click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon. This will bring up the Internet Setup Assistant window.
• In the Internet Access Window, select Yes for the "Would you like to setup your computer to use the Internet?" prompt.
• In the Internet Access Window, select Yes for the "Do you already have an Internet account?" prompt.
• Click the right arrow to proceed to the next window.
• Enter niinet.net in the "What would you like to name this configuration?" field.
• Select Modem for "How will you be connecting to the Internet?"
• In the Modem Settings Window, select your Modem from the drop down menu at "Which modem are you using?" prompt. If you do not know this information, refer to your Macintosh owner’s manual to find out what modem is installed in your system.
• Select Internal Modem from the drop down menu at "Which port is the modem connected to?" prompt and select Tone. Click the right arrow to proceed to the next window.
• In the Configuration Information Window, enter your access number in the field labeled "What is the access telephone number for this configuration?". A complete list of niinet.net dialup numbers can be found here. If you don’t find your local number here, please call our Customer Service department at 800-897-2448 for assistance. If you are in an area that uses 10-digit local dialing, make sure to include the area code.
• Enter your username exactly as it appears in your welcome kit.
• Enter your password exactly as it appears in your welcome kit, then click the right arrow to proceed.
• In the PPP Connect Scripts window, select No and click the right arrow to proceed.
• In the Domain Name Servers window, niinet.net will set your DNS information when you connect, leave this field blank. Click the right arrow to proceed.
• In the E-mail address and password window, enter your email address (username@niinet.net) in the e-mail address field, and enter you e-mail password in the password field. Click the right arrow to proceed.
• In the E-mail account and host computer window, enter your email address (username@niinet.net) in the email account field.
• Enter mail.niinet.net in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.
• Click the right arrow to proceed.
• Leave the Newsgroup page blank and click the right arrow to proceed.
• Select No in the Proxies window and click the right arrow to proceed.
• In the Conclusion Window, select Go Ahead to complete the Internet Setup Assistant procedure.
